Floyd Mayweather’s camp says it never agreed to details of Manny Pacquiao fight
In response to deadline, Mayweather’s advisor says sides had never agreed to meet on Nov. 13
Floyd Mayweather's camp issued a statement Monday afternoon regarding recent comments made by Manny Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum.
At 11:59 p.m. on July 16, Arum held a conference call to inform media members that although both sides of the potential megafight had basically agreed on all points of a contract to meet Nov. 13, Mayweather's hesitancy to sign off on the deal had forced Top Rank to seek a new opponent for Pacquiao.
In a statement released Monday, Mayweather's advisor Leonard Ellerbe said that a deal between the two sides never was made as Arum had suggested.
"Here are the facts," the statement said. "(Mayweather's manager) Al Haymon, (Golden Boy Promotions CEO) Richard Schafer and myself speak to each other on a regular basis, and the truth is no negotiations have ever taken place, nor was there ever a deal agreed upon by Team Mayweather or Floyd Mayweather to fight Manny Pacquiao Nov. 13."
It was the first statement made by anyone on Mayweather's side since negotiations reportedly began following Mayweather's latest win over Shane Mosley on May 1. If it happens, the Pacquiao fight is expected to be the richest in boxing history with each fighter making as much as $60 million.
Both sides were put under a gag order by HBO during negotiations, a request that ended when Arum leaked to certain news sites that the deal was close in late June.
In his July 16 conference call, Arum admitted he hadn't been in direct contact with Mayweather's camp and that all negotiations were being relayed through HBO president Ross Greenburg.
Ellerbe's statement verified as much, saying that either Greenburg or Arum was lying about the negotiations. Not surprisingly, Ellerbe hinted that Arum, who once promoted Mayweather before the two had a falling out, was the culprit
"Either Ross Greenburg or Bob Arum is not telling the truth," Ellerbe said. "But history tells us who is lying."
Pacquiao is expected to now face either Miguel Cotto or Antonio Margarito on Nov. 13. According to Arum, a deal with either of those two could be made as quickly as next week.

Possible Pacquiao-Floyd bout dead, says Arum
Top Rank Promotions chairman Bob Arum said that Mayweather has failed to meet the Friday night deadline (Saturday in Manila) on whether or not to accept a lucrative November 13 showdown with the Filipino boxing superstar.
"(The Pacquiao-Mayweather bout is) dead when we conclude a deal with an opponent for Manny’s fight in November," Arum said.
Arum held a midnight conference call from Las Vegas to inform the world that he failed to hear anything from Mayweather regarding the latter's interest to go inside the ring with the fighting congressman from Sarangani.
"Floyd, for whatever reason, didn’t want to commit," said the 78-year old Harvard-schooled Arum, who promoted some of the richest bouts in boxing history, including the epic "Thrilla in Manila" and the super-fight pitting Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Tommy "The Hitman" Hearns.
"I’ve had no negotiations or discussions with any other fighter," Arum added. "This Friday was the end of the exclusivity agreement."
The 31-year old Pacquiao was hardly bothered by the failure to lure Mayweather in the ring for the second straight time.
"It’s okay with me if he doesn’t want to fight me. I’m always ready for any challenger," said Pacquiao, who attended the birthday party of chief of staff Jake Joson Friday night at The Republiq.
The Top Rank big boss made it clear however, that he’s not conceding about making the fight the world wants to see hopefully by next year. "He’ll (Pacquiao) look to do a fight with Floyd next year," Arum said.
The long-time boxing promoter doesn’t want to second-guess why Mayweather, for the second time in a row, refused to do a fight guaranteed to net him and Pacquiao at least $50 million each.
But he did mention that the coming August trial of Roger Mayweather, Floyd’s uncle and chief trainer, may have something to do with it.
The elder Mayweather is going to trial following a battery charge filed against him by a female boxer he once handled.
"I'm trying to rationalize it, and if it's because he may be reluctant to fight now because of the problems his uncle (and trainer, Roger Mayweather) has, then I understand it," Arum said.
"I know Manny would not want to go into a fight without the services of Freddie Roach. Presumably, Floyd feels the same way about going into a big fight like this without the services of his Uncle Roger."
The Top Rank chief revealed that he never negotiated with anybody from the Mayweather camp, but discussed the matter with Ross Greenberg, president of HBO sports, who acted as the sole intermediary between the two parties.
After Greenberg held a series of talks with both Arum and Mayweather’s adviser, Al Haymon, it appeared that both parties had come up with an acceptable offer, including the drug-testing issue that derailed last year’s initial negotiations for the fight, and a resolution seemed close to being reached.
Unfortunately, Mayweather would have none of it.
"Without knowing, I am sure that there is a very, very good reason that Floyd Mayweather has for not committing to a fight at this time," Arum said. "I really and truly believe that." Continue reading here...

Pacquiao promoter unveils countdown timer for Mayweather
MANILA, Philippines – The clock is literally ticking for Floyd Mayweather Jr. to make up his mind and fight Manny Pacquiao
Top Rank Inc., which promotes Pacquiao, has set up a timer on its official website that acts as a countdown for Mayweather to agree on facing Pacquiao.
The countdown timer, labeled as “’Money’ Time: Mayweather’s Decision,” has been placed on the topmost part of Top Rank’s website. As of posting time, Mayweather has one day and one hour to decide whether to face Pacquiao.
Top Rank chief Bob Arum said when the deadline lapses, he will look for other fights for Pacquiao, possibly against Antonio Margarito or a rematch with WBO junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto in November.
Arum earlier said Pacquiao has already agreed to the terms for the Mayweather bout, adding that it is now up to the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based boxer to give his nod of approval to finalize the fight.
Negotiations for a Pacquiao-Mayweather showdown, which is expected to be the richest fight in boxing history, had been hounded by issues on blood-testing protocol, with Mayweather insisting for random, Olympic-style blood testing.
Pacquiao reportedly already agreed to take the tests.

The boxer-turned-Sarangani congressman said Mayweather deserves to win the honor as he is a good boxer.
“I'm happy for him na pinili siya ng ESPN. Siguro hindi naman siya masamang boksingero,” said Pacquiao.
He added that he is not really concerned about being edged by Mayweather for the ESPY plum this year since he has garnered numerous awards in his colorful boxing career.
“As a boxer, nakuha naman natin ang lahat ng mga award at siyempre ‘yung pinakamataas na award na nakuha natin 'yung Fighter of the Decade,” said Pacquiao.
Aside from winning the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) Fighter of the Decade award (2000-2009), he also won the BWAA Fighter of Year Award 3 times (2006, 2008 and 2009), Best Fighter ESPY award (2009) and the Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year award 3 times (2006, 2008 and 2009).

Meanwhile, Pacquiao said the chance of having a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight on November 13 is getting slim.
He echoed the sentiments of his promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank.
Arum told Bob Velin of USA Today that he's frustrated with the negotiations with Golden Boy, which represents Mayweather.
"But I'm trying to rationalize it, and if it's because he may be reluctant to fight now because of the problems his uncle (and trainer, Roger Mayweather) has, then I understand it," Arum said in the report.
Roger is set to go on trial in August for a battery charge involving a female boxer he once trained.
"We have heard nothing from (Floyd)," Arum said. "But hey, it's not the end of the world. If it doesn't happen this year, hopefully it will happen next year."
Arum is also working out a possible Pacquiao fight against either former world champion Antonio Margarito or World Boxing Association (WBA) junior middleweight king Miguel Cotto.

PACQUIAO WON’T WAIT FOR MAYWEATHER MUCH LONGER

While Floyd Mayweather Jr takes his own sweet time to make a decision on whether or not to ink a contract placed before him for a planned November 13 megabuck showdown with pound-for-pound king and “Fighter of the Decade” Manny Pacquiao, indications are Pacquiao won’t wait much longer.
In fact insidesports.ph, Standard Today and Viva Sports learned that Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz had met last night in Puerto Rico with WBO light middleweight champion Miguel Cotto and one of his trusted assistants apparently to look at the possibilities of a rematch in November should Mayweather fulfill his desire to take a break for one year and hopefully face Pacquiao in 2011.
However, there are those who believe Mayweather is biding for time to return, hoping that Pacquiao with the demands on him as a results-oriented congressman would quit boxing to concentrate on his role as a catalyst for change and a stimulator of economic growth in Sarangani which is one of the poorest regions in the country.
But Top Rank promoter Bob believes that even if he fights Mayweather this year or the next Pacquiao will continue to fight so he could earn and help the poor people in his province.
The reported meeting between Koncz and Cotto who is also promoted by Top Rank indicated that Team Pacquiao is looking at other options and a rematch with Cotto from whom Pacquiao won the WBO welterweight title with a 12th round TKO last November looms as a real possibility.
Both Arum and Koncz had told us some time ago that the attraction of a Cotto rematch is that Pacquiao would have an opportunity to win and cement his place in boxing history as the champion in eight different weight divisions.

The Positive Attributes of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao
It is an acceptable fact in the boxing world that Floyd Mayweather Jr. already carved a name in the world of boxing. His being undefeated up to now is a big factor and accomplishment to be reckoned with. On top of that he defeated famous boxers like Diego Corrales, Arturo Gatti, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez and recently Sugar Shane Mosley. There is no question, he is a talented boxer who mastered and improved the fundamentals of boxing which he applies in all of his boxing matches.
He started training in boxing at an early age under the guidance and supervision of his disciplinarian father and trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. who himself was a boxer who fought Sugar Ray Leonard but lost. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is just like Tigers Woods the famous golf player who also started at an early age under the guidance of his father Earl Woods. Floyd devoted most of his childhood training in boxing instead of hanging around in the streets.
Mayweather is a good person also seemingly a reasonable man despite his being very vocal against his opponents. Floyd always trash talks his opponent to build up the fight and to get into his opponents head, affecting them mentally in the fight but as he said before this is just for the purpose of promoting the fight so more people will buy it. His father Floyd Sr. is more extreme in releasing statements like when he attacks Freddie Roach by calling Joke Coach Roach and saying Manny Pacquiao is one dimensional with no skill but still it’s just for promotional purpose only.
Boxing enthusiasts consider this exciting and entertaining.
Mayweather Sr. just like his brother Roger Mayweather are just very supportive to Floyd Jr. which is only natural since they are family.
He trains with proper discipline leading to good physical condition at the time of the fight. He can also handle his negotiation by himself to get a favorable contract.
On the other hand, Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao, the “Boxer of the Decade”, can be considered a very rare species in the boxing world because of his unique style of boxing and training. His boxing technique which he acquired from an old Filipino trainer whom he did not forget to extend his gratitude by visiting him immediately after his first success in boxing. Manny Pacquiao mastered and improved this technique of boxing which is now being improved by his famous coach Freddie Roach who just recieved the “Trainer of the Year” award. Continue reading here...

Mayweather, Pacquiao fight negotiations completed —Arum

"It’s now up to Mayweather if he wants to fight (Manny Pacquiao)," Arum told The Bulletin in a phone interview.
Arum said that if Mayweather decides not to fight, he has no other recourse but to "look for somebody else."
It may be recalled that the negotiations for the highly publicized Mayweather-Pacquiao fight have been held almost in total secrecy as negotiators led by Bob Arum and Richard Schaefer were under gag order during the entire process.
Mayweather and Pacquiao were reportedly agreeable to a November fight date, and that the venue would be Las Vegas, Nevada.
At least two contentious issues have remained unresolved as of yesterday. These are the random drug test and fight purse issues. Arum did not say if he and Schaefer had agreed on the issues before sending the final recommendations to Mayweather for approval.
Arum announced earlier that he has lined up Miguel Cotto for a possible rematch with Pacquiao or a fight with Antonio Margarito if Mayweather declines the final proposal.

Roach: Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight will happen
According to trainer Freddie Roach, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is ready to agree to all of Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s demands to make a super fight on November 13.
Because Pacquiao will agree to Mayweather's demands, including the request for random Olympic style drug testing, Roach is confident the fight with Mayweather will happen. He says Pacquiao will leave the ball in Mayweather's court to make the fight come off.
“At this point I feel that Manny is going to agree to everything,” Roach said to The Toronto Star. “That’s our bluff. We’re going to call his bluff. We’ll see…I can’t speak for Manny, I can’t speak for (Bob) Arum but I feel the fight will happen because Manny is going to call his bluff and say ‘let’s do it.’”
“Manny’s now a congressman. He’s going to agree with everything Mayweather wants. That’s why I think the fight will happen.”

Pound for pound fighters Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr have made it to the elite Forbes Celebrity 100 for 2010 as the influential business magazine has published its listing on their website today.
Pacquiao is listed at #55 with an estimated earnings of $35 million from his two fights against Joshua Clottey and Miguel Cotto. Mayweather came in at #31 with an estimated earnings of $65 million from his fights against Juan Manuel Marquez in September last year ($25 million) and Sugar Shane Mosley last month ($40 million). Pacquiao also landed at #57 during last year's edition.
Pacquiao and Mayweather, who both fight in the same division in boxing, are still locked in negotiations for a fight that is said to break all financial records in the history of the sport.
Topping this year's list of Forbes Celebrity 100 are Oprah Winfrey at #1 followed Beyonce Knowles at #2 and James Cameroon at #3. Winfrey also was #1 in 2008, 2007 and 2005. Michael Jordan was #1 during the inaugural list in 1999.

Manny Pacquiao has been given a boost by being named the best pound-for-pound boxer by The Ring magazine. This accolade is another snub in Floyd Mayweather Jnr’s direction and comes hot on the heels of “Pacman’s” fighter of the decade award.
The boxing bible, as The Ring proclaims, itself has been the main source of news and information for fight fans worldwide since the dawn of time. Certainly a credible source, full of undoubted experts, but it’s still just opinions. It doesn’t matter what ranking list you look at, it’s all entirely subjective.
Mayweather could feel hard done by with both The Ring and the fighter of the decade award. Before his retirement Mayweather was far and away No.1 and has almost had to prove himself again since his comeback. He still has a perfect record and in “Sugar” Shane Mosley he has fought better opposition in his last bout than Pacquiao, who came through against Joshua Clottey.
In terms of the fighter of the decade award as Floyd Mayweather Snr pointed out to FightHype.com “Pacquiao has two draws and a loss in this decade. Lil’ Floyd is undefeated in this decade and in his career.” Again the other side of the coin shows Pacman started his career at an earlier age and has fought more fights, 56 to Mayweather’s 41 and indeed taken 38 knockouts to “Money’s” 25, so read into that what you will.
With the same breath, though,consider the overall quality of opposition they have faced and it’s pretty even. Pacquiao scored more emphatic victories over Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton than Money did, although you could argue Mayweather got their first and softened them up.
However the Filipino has been a bit more forth going in fighting the tougher fights, stepping up to face Miguel Cotto last November, something Mayweather’s yet to do. He put in a very convincing virtuoso performance against “Junito”, consigning him to only his second defeat and making him look second rate.
Juan Manuel Marquez is another common opponent, Pacquiao faced a much younger and better version of him in a controversial 2004 draw and a very dubious win in 2008 saw Pacman through. In comparison Mayweather took on an ageing Marquez last year and battled his way to a comfortable if unexciting unanimous decision win.

Pacquiao vs Mayweather : Americans Crucified Pacquiao

Pacquiao – Mayweather fight is one of the biggest and expected fight of the year. But it seems the ball is still rolling and unsure if this fight will happen. Let me stand first on my title, sorry but I’m not being a racist here or something. I just want to clarify and see why people in the US now doubts Manny Pacquiao on using PEDs.
For me Pacquiao is right when he filed a lawsuit against Mayweather and his camp on the issue of using PEDs. Manny Pacquiao runs in boxing for almost 15 years and he has a clean record. I don’t know why Floyd Mayweather pull this string of making some allegation that the number 1 pound for pound fighter is on PEDs.
This is the trend and people now thinks and doubt Pacman because of Floyd’s allegation.
After reading some post from other writer they seem to side on Mayweather now, look at the boxing industry on this point. For me it’s better to watch a UFC pay per view event more than watching a boxing match but unless if Pacman is fighting then make sure I will be watching his fight.
Boxing is now getting boring fights, some says Boxing is not just only knock outs because it’s a sweet science.
On the other why the Sports commission is allowing Mayweather to dictate the fight? The NSAC should be looking also on this point if Mayweather cut this crap on insisting a “CLEAN SPORT” then NSAC should be doing it also in other boxing fights.
Now some of the people hates and even doubt Pacman on his career but the Filipino Pride is not moved because of this issue regarding his performance.
Right now I have to agree on the blood testing but I’m not really into it just to make the fight happen. NSAC is doing there job for decades now and Floyd is trying to make a move that the commission is not doing their position well enough.
Well if Mayweather insists more than 14 days then I suggest that Pacquiao should stop negotiating with Mayweather, he better hang up his gloves and serve the people.
Me, agreeing on Mayweather’s antics of blood testing is just to have Pacquiao a chance of beating Floyd Mayweather’s face badly.

Pacquiao relents on pre-fight tests

MANILA, Philippines—This time, Manny Pacquiao is giving Floyd Mayweather Jr. little room to reject their proposed megabuck bout on Nov. 13.
After thumbing down Mayweather’s demand for Olympic drug testing and canceling their fight set on March 13, congressman-elect Pacquiao is now willing to deviate from his hard-line stance.
Pacquiao, intent on forging what could be boxing’s biggest showdown ever, said he is now amenable to undergo random drug and urine testing 14 days before the fight.
Originally, Pacquiao wanted the tests to be held at least 24 days before the fight, saying blood extraction procedures made him weak.
The 31-year-old Pacquiao said he felt weak when he fought and lost by unanimous decision to Erik Morales the first time they met in March 2005 as a result of the late tests.
Pacquiao went on to beat the Mexican great in their next two bouts.
“Whatever is agreed upon, it’s OK with me,” Pacquiao said in Filipino. “I trust Mr. (Bob) Arum on this matter.”
Pacquiao, who’s been proclaimed as winner of Sarangani’s lone congressional district, flew in from Gen. Santos City on Tuesday to meet with President-apparent Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
The seven-division champ shot a Ginebra commercial on Wednesday and visited his commercial building in Manila’s Quiapo district Thursday night with confidant Rex “Wakee” Salud.
Pacquiao, who will take a crash course on governance at the University of the Philippines, said he’s willing to be tested two weeks before fight night provided that the amount of blood to be taken would be minimal.
Projected to enrich both fighters by at least $40 million, the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight was almost sealed before a last-minute demand by the American for random testing derailed negotiations.
Known for his intense focus when in training, Pacquiao said he sees no conflict in his duties as a congressman and as a fighter.

MORALES: Mayweather-Pacquiao must get done

A lot happened during the first failed negotiations for a fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. From insults to insinuations to accusations, these were not peace talks.
Pacquiao filed a defamation suit against Mayweather, his uncle and trainer, Roger; his father, Floyd Sr.; and Golden Boy executives Oscar De La Hoya and Richard Schaefer for comments about Pacquiao's possible use of performance-enhancing drugs.
(We accent the word "possible" because Pacquiao never tested positive for PEDs).
The contentious nature of the first round of discussions makes one wonder if a second round will bear fruit. Also, how bad would it be for boxing if it can't get the top two pound-for-pound fighters to square off in what would be one of the most anticipated fights in history and would break all monetary and pay-per-view records?
Bob Arum, who promotes Pacquiao, scoffed when asked about that.
"I don't want to dwell on the negative and I don't want to really answer that question that way," Arum said. "I would say it would be absolutely great for the sport for the fight to happen and it would focus the entire world's attention on the sport of boxing.
"That is the way I would look at that situation rather than look at how bad it would be if it didn't happen."
Schaefer likely will handle Mayweather's side - Golden Boy helps Mayweather promote his fights - and played his own game of dodge ball when the subject was broached.
"I would love to see it," Schaefer said. "But you don't always see Kobe and LeBron in the NBA Finals. You don't always see Brazil and Italy in the World Cup finals. We haven't seen the two best MMA pound-for-pound fighters against each other. And the list goes on and on.
"Would I love to see it? Absolutely."

Pacquiao says he'll agree to drug testing with a 24-day cutoff
The biggest fight in boxing is now on the table.
Manny Pacquiao dominated Joshua Clottey over 12 rounds at Cowboys Stadium in March. Floyd Mayweather Jr., dominated Shane Mosley on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
There are two issues at hand in the Mayweather-Pacquiao negotiations: the issue of money and the random Olympic-style drug testing. The two sides sat down earlier this year and the two fighters could not agree on the cut-off date for the random drug testing. Following Saturday's win over Mosley, Mayweather said the Pacquiao fight could not be made without Olympic-style drug testing.
"If Manny Pacquiao can take a blood and urine test then we have a fight,'' Mayweather said. "If not, no fight.''
According to several reports, Pacquiao watched the fight in the Philippines and afterwards spoke to Manilla radio station DZBB. Pacquiao said that he's willing to agree to the random blood testing, but only if the testing has a cutoff date of 24 days.
"For me, as long as the drug test is not done close to the match, I'll agree because if they'll get blood from me close to the match, it will be a disadvantage for me because I'm smaller and he's big,'' Pacquiao said.

Mayweather dominates Mosley, stays unbeaten
LAS VEGAS -- Floyd Mayweather Jr. is usually content to just win a fight. This time, though, Money Mayweather wanted to earn his cash.
Fighting more aggressively than usual, Mayweather overcame a near knockdown in the second round Saturday night to dominate the rest of the way and win a lopsided 12-round decision over Shane Mosley in their welterweight showdown.
"I wanted to give the fans what they wanted to see, a toe-to-toe battle," Mayweather said. "It wasn't the same style for me but I wanted to be aggressive and I knew I could do it."
Boxing's biggest box office draw remained undefeated in 41 fights, but not before giving his fans and his corner a scare when a right hand to the side of his head buckled his knees a minute into the second, and he had to grab Mosley to avoid going down. Mosley landed another right later in the round, but the rest of the night belonged to Mayweather.
If he didn't please everyone, it was because he couldn't knock out Mosley. But Mayweather won every minute of every round after the second and the normally defensive-minded fighter kept after Mosley until the final bell in a masterful performance that earned him every dollar of his guaranteed $22.5 million payday.
"I think we could have pressed the attack a lot earlier, and then we could have got the knockout," Mayweather said.

Mayweather must demolish Mosley

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is undefeated, a six-time world champion and perhaps the biggest draw in boxing.
Shane Mosley is a great champion who's past his prime and probably couldn't carry a pay-per-view card by himself.
However, it's Mayweather who has the most to prove from Saturday night's welterweight bout in Las Vegas (HBO Pay-Per-View). He's likely the most-skilled boxer in the world. Instead of that distinction drawing him praise, Mayweather is reviled for his defense-first style, as well as his big mouth.
He prides himself on being the greatest ever (in large part to his 40-0 record) and at the same time he's in a slugfest to be considered the best boxer today.
Manny Pacquiao ostensibly holds that crown as much for his recent accomplishments as his penchant to be a warrior in the ring. Courage is what separates Mayweather and Pacquiao in many people's perceptions -- with Pacquiao being a gutty fighter while Mayweather hits and runs.
Whether that's right or wrong, it's irrelevant. That's what's out there. Mayweather's demand for Olympic-style drug testing -- previously unheard of in professional boxing -- sank a proposed mega-fight with Pacquiao and further perpetuated his negative perception.
"I don't care about shutting anybody up," Mayweather said during a recent conference call. "I don't care about shutting anybody up. I'm happy with myself. I'm happy with my career and I'm happy with my family."
It's true and it's not. He certainly marches to his own tune, but for a cocky and ego-driven athlete like he is, it must irk him that he's slighted (at least in his own mind) by the boxing community.

Mayweather will be again at the center stage of boxing. This weekend we will know who will fight Pacquiao. Manny Pacquiao will try to scout his would-be next opponent when the Filipino boxing icon joins the television panel for the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Sugar Shane Mosley bout on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
Pacquiao will share his insights as the third analyst for the WHO R U PICKING? megafight, which will be simultaneously aired at GMA-7 and Solar TV at 1 a.m., alongside renowned sports commentator Quinito Henson and sports broadcaster Chino Trinidad of GMA-7.
This was announced during the press launching of the WHO R U PICKING? Mayweather-Mosley bout at the New World Renaissance Hotel in Makati.
Mosley or Mayweather could become the reigning pound-for-pound king's next opponent in another expected multi-million dollar showdown.
Only last March, the expected megafight between the pride of General Santos City and the outspoken Mayweather collapsed after the American's camp demanded that Pacquiao undergo Olympic-style drug testing.
Pacquiao's camp refused the proposed dope testing and the Mayweathers, despite getting clearance from the Nevada Athletic Commission that the Filipino is drug free, pulled out of the negotiating table.
The renowned People's Champion found himself facing Joshua Clottey, who is a defensive-minded Ghanian fighter who refused to go head-to-head with Pacquiao.
Pacquiao will get a chance to see first hand the styles of both fighters who wanted to face him inside the ring for pride and big money.
The Mayweather-Mosley bout is expected to be a rapid-chess match as both are thinking fighters who always wait for every opportunity to strike. Both fighters also rely on their speed.

LAS VEGAS -- Two boxing statesmen, both former world champions turned trainers, with a keen eye for the irreversible templates of the punch-for-pay game and the toll it takes, watch Floyd Mayweather intently. One has a vested interest in Saturday’s Mayweather-Shane Mosley fight. The other doesn’t.
Both think they see the same thing at play in the welterweight extravaganza, an experience they lived through during their own careers as active boxers.
Cornelius Boza Edwards and Roger Mayweather were world champions whose principal role in professional boxing was Hall of Fame gatekeeper, because almost anyone who beat them in their primes became an immediate candidate.

“There’s five years difference between them,” Boza Edwards said. “As we know, over the years, even with great fighters, one or two years could be huge.
“We always have this scenario. Fighting is a young man’s sport. In this fight, between Floyd and Shane, Floyd is the younger man. The reflexes aren’t the same. The quickness isn’t the same. And the other thing is, the last time Shane fought, was more than a year ago. So all those things are combined.”
Roger Mayweather trains his nephew and has an obvious bias. He also is an astute observer of boxing and a student of its history who considers Mosley a great fighter and surefire Hall of Famer, with dangerous power and a big heart.
